Trevor Dunn update…
Trevor Dunn is a 16-year old student at Graves County High School involved in a automobile accident Saturday night. He is currently at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville. The outlook for him Saturday night/Sunday morning was very grim. Rallying together, we had an awesome time of worship and prayer at both Sunday morning services at His House. Many people were connected to Jesus and many lives were changed for the better.
God did an amazing work at our church service, and apparently in Nashville, too. Several of our church family are with Trevor and his family in Nashville, and by all reports he is doing much better since Sunday morning. He has a long road to recovery, but the outlook keeps getting better all the time. Like Pastor Greg Hill said Sunday morning, sometimes it takes a tragedy for good things to happen. Even though Trevor may not know it, God is already using this seemingly tragic situation to change people’s lives and bring glory to Himself. Let’s keep Trevor and his family in our prayers, and continue to praise God for his amazing love!

Who’s The Boss?
Next Sunday, August 8th, we’re starting a new sermon series titled Authority. In every area of our lives we have authority figures–at home, at work, at school, at church, and in our spiritual lives. But are we really under their authority? Do we listen to and act on what they say, even when we disagree? In this series we’ll learn that authority is not as much about domination, as it is about protection. Starting August 8th, we’ll learn how to place ourselves under the people God has placed over us. Don’t miss out on these life-changing lessons!
New Message Series: Confessions Of A Pastor: Part 1–Struggling With Sin
Following up on Part 1 of the Confessions Of A Pastor series, here are a few tips for responding to temptation:
1.) RECOGNIZE TEMPTATION AT ITS EARLIEST STAGES
Romans 13:14: Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
2.) QUICKLY ASK GOD FOR HELP
I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:4&6
3.) IF POSSIBLE, REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE TEMPTATION
I Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.
4.) IDENTIFY THE IDOL OF YOUR HEART THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SERVE
5.) QUOTE AND MEDITATE ON THE BIBLE
Psalm 119:9-11 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments. Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You!
6.) REMIND YOURSELF OF GOD’S PRESENCE, POWER, AND PROMISES
I Corinthians 10:12-14 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
7.) REFLECT ON JESUS’ DEATH
Galations 6:14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
I Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.
8.) MAKE A COMMITMENT TO DO THE GODLY THING
9.) GET BUSY WITH MIND-ENGAGING GODLY ACTIVITY
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–meditate on these things.
10). CALL A GODLY FRIEND AND ASK FOR HELP.

The next seven years…
What an awesome day yesterday at His House! We celebrated our seven year anniversary with hamburgers, hot dogs, cake, balloons, unveiled the new building design, had awesome times of praise and worship, and Brady Weldon BROUGHT IT! Countless souls were saved and lives were changed. God did an amazing work in the lives of so many people, and we have so many reasons to praise Him. If you missed it, you missed a blessing!
While yesterday was so awesome, we can’t live off of what happened in the past–we have to keep looking forward. While the last seven years have been an amazing experience, God has a unique plan for His House, and the next seven years are going to be just as exciting, maybe even more! Don’t just sit on the sidelines while we move forward–join a Lifegroup, serve in a ministry, go on a mission trip–GET INVOLVED! Check out the different sections of hishouse.tv to find out how. We can’t keep growing without your help. Please pray that Jesus would lead you into the next step of your journey with Him. Seek Him, hunger for Him, desire Him, and you will find Him. Let’s join up and experience the next seven years with Jesus together!
7th Anniversary Service
Join us May 16 as we celebrate our seventh anniversary. His House was founded May 18, 2003, and since that day countless lives have been changed. God has done an amazing work in the life of this ministry, but we know that the best is yet to come.
Come hear special guest speaker Brady Weldon at 9:30 and 11:00 am Sunday morning. We’ll also have hamburgers, hot dogs, all the “fixin’s”, and plenty other exciting stuff to celebrate the last seven years. And looking ahead to the next chapter of His House history, we will also be unveiling the architect’s design for our new facility.
Then that night, we will have a special Sunday night service at 6:00. At this Celebrate Recovery service, Brady will be speaking on spiritual warfare and addiction. If you know someone who is struggling with an addiction or other problems in their life, bring them that night to hear how God can set us free from sin. This will preview our upcoming Celebrate Recovery Lifegroup
You don’t want to miss this exciting weekend!
