Take Your Place in the Body

“For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” Acts 20:27–28 NKJV

Lord, show me my place in Your Church. Open my eyes to it, that I may live out the purpose You have for me. Help me to know and understand Your will for my life. I dedicate myself from this time forward to growing, and diving headfirst, in a relationship with You daily. That way You may be able to prepare me for the work that lies ahead of me. *****

Seek the whole counsel of God always and in everything. The Holy Spirit determines where our place is in the church. Yet there are some who just dive into ministry and help without allowing the Spirit to guide the process. They go to Bible college and make plans to be a pastor, but never pray to ask the Lord what He wants for them. They figure out their own works that they think are good, then try to honor God by them. But God has a plan for us in these things, and we ought to honor Him by submission and obedience to His will. Let the Lord lead you not only in your daily steps, but into the body as well. Let Him sew you into the sinews of the church, and be grateful for the place He has given you. If you don’t know what your place is, then pray until He reveals it. Pray also that He would prepare you for it. Do not dive into it immediately, but let Him guide the process. He knows what He is doing and doesn’t need our help.
