Take the True Doctrine Seriously: Day 22, Praying Acts From Your Heart
from "Pray Your Way Through The Scriptures!" by Adam Houge -
Take the True Doctrine Seriously
“For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.” Acts 20:29–30 NKJV
Lord, teach me Your truth, that I may not be deceived. I know that wolves come in sheep’s clothing and present false doctrine as a delectable and tasty treat. I refuse to have an itching ear. Lord, guide me by Your truth and give me the wisdom to understand Your doctrine, that I may not be deceived but, instead, live according to Your truth. Because I love You, therefore I will seek Your truth. *****
If you love the Lord, won’t you seek to know Him for who He is? Yet there are some who have itching ears and would rather seek the opinions that appeal to their hearts. But God has not called us to live by faith in what makes sense to us individually. He has called us to have faith in the Lord’s pure and perfect truth—His undefiled doctrine, which He has personally delivered to us and personally communicates to us through His Holy Spirit. Remain attentive to His Spirit, therefore, that you may be able to discern the truth. *"
